IV. ADMISSION STEPS

Each prospective student can and should set an appointment with either the Director of Education or the Admissions Office to establish his/her educational goals.

We understand that sometimes students may wish to enroll in an advanced program to fit the requirements of the job market in the area. To help students achieve this goal, we developed a FREE Entrance Examination for each of three of our IT Certificate Programs as follows:
1. Entrance Examination for IT Network Administrator Program: this exam will give us a good understanding of the computer hardware and general operating systems knowledge that you possess prior to enrolling in the IT Network Administrator Program
2. Entrance Examination for IT System Administrator Program: this exam will give us a good understanding of the networking, security, routing and switching knowledge you possess before enrolling in the IT System Administrator Program
3. Entrance Examination for IT Network Administrator Program: this exam will give us a good understanding of the detailed operating systems, servers, and server infrastructure you possess prior to enrolling in the IT Enterprise Engineer Program
Passing the Entrance Examination exam with a score of 80% or higher is one of the prerequisites for enrolling in the program of your choice. Here are the prerequisites needed for each program:
IT Network Administrator Program Prerequisites (one of the following):
‐ 80% or higher score obtained on the IT Network Administrator Entrance Exam OR
‐ CompTIA A+ Essentials and CompTIA A+Practical Applications OR
‐ Official score reports for passing both CompTIA certification exams OR
‐ CompTIA A+ Membership Card

IT System Administrator Program Prerequisites (one of the following):
‐ 80% or higher score obtained on the IT System Administrator Entrance Exam
‐ Graduation from the IT Network Administrator program

IT Enterprise Engineer Program Prerequisites (one of the following):
‐ 80% or higher score obtained on the IT System Administrator Entrance Exam
‐ Graduation from the IT System Administrator program

This being said, here are some steps that can help students with the application for the program they wish to enroll in:

Step 1: Read the description of each program found in this catalog and decide which program you wish to enroll in. Fill out the Admission Application Form located on the last page of our catalog and mail/email it to our Director of Education, Mr. Dennis Ringlieb at Admissions@InovaTech.edu

Step 2: Schedule the Entrance Examination with our Test Center Administrator, by calling her at (910) 222-1013 or by emailing Testing@InovaTech.edu. If you are interested in enrolling in the IT Network Administrator Program and you meet the other prerequisites, you do not need to take the Entrance Examination.

Step 3: Once the examination is administered and graded, we will contact you to inform you of the grade and the recommended next step. If a new examination is recommended, then steps 2 and 3 will repeat until a final program is chosen.

Step 4: Once a final program is chosen, an Enrollment package will be handed/emailed to you. The package will contain the following documents:
1. Registration/Enrollment Agreement for Certificate Programs – partially filled out by the Admissions staff with program information and Entrance Examination information. A copy of a state ID must be attached to this form by you prior to returning it to the Admissions staff
2. Transcript Request Form – must be filled out for all schools previously attended. Once filled out, turn it in together with the other forms.
3. Student Employment Information Form – must be filled out at three points during the program:
- At time of enrollment (returned with the enrollment package)
4. Placement Verification Form must be filled out:
- At time of graduation
- 30 days upon graduation
Fill out the package and return it to the Director of Education together with a copy of your state ID.

Our certificate programs prepare students for available jobs in the Information Technology or Project Management field. InovaTech does not guarantee employment to our graduates; however, we will assist students in finding a position in the field. In this respect, the Student Employment Information Form is needed so that the student can communicate the desire of taking advantage of the placement services we offer.

The transcript request form must be filled out for all high schools and colleges ever attended by the student. Copies of the forms will be made if necessary. The form will be mailed out by the Admissions Office to all mentioned schools. If a transcript from one of the schools previously attended is not received by the school by the beginning of the second class, the student is responsible for providing an official transcript from that school by the end of the second class. If the student is unable to do so, the student will be charged a $10 re-mailing fee and the Admissions Office will request the transcript again.

The enrollment agreement is a binding contract between the student and InovaTech. After both parties sign the agreement, the student will receive a copy of the agreement.

The Entrance Examinations are developed in-house to measure the skills level of the students starting an InovaTech program. The exam will be graded within 7 days of the date when it was taken and a letter containing the grade will be mailed to the student. No student will be accepted into the program if the grade is lower than 80 points.

There is no admission fee in any of the InovaTech programs.

Once the enrollment package is filled out and all official transcripts are received by the Registrar, an admission/denial decision will be mailed to the student by the Admissions Office. Members of the Admissions Office are the Director of Education and the Registrar of InovaTech. The signature of only one of them is needed on the Enrollment Agreement to establish acceptance/denial. An admission/denial letter will be mailed to the student within 5 business days from the date the decision is reached.

If the candidate is denied the enrollment into the InovaTech program desired, the applicant can re-apply at any time following the admission steps listed above.
